UPDATE
Google News has now started displaying a graph of COVID-19 cases by day on the county level. With that chart easily available, we’ve discontinued updating our chart below.
This is meant to be an aid for businesses and non-profits who are deciding when and how to re-open their doors. It goes without saying, but please follow official guidelines by the CDC and the State of Iowa.
As things are starting to open up again around the country, Iowa has taken a county-by-county approach.
At first, the official charts from the State of Iowa were only tracking cumulative cases at the county level. There wasn’t any source I could find that was charting daily confirmed COVID-19 infections by county.
I wanted to see “the curve” for our area specifically in order to better gauge the growth or decline in the rate of infections. Using the official data, we graphed this information for Muscatine County and Johnson County, Iowa.
The official Iowa Dept. of Health website has now started graphing this data as well, but it’s not very intuitive for everyone to find it, so we will continue to update this graph here.
I hope you find it helpful as you decide what is best for you and your customers.

Note
We can’t help you interpret these numbers, and we can’t guarantee these numbers are even correct. We just took the official numbers and plugged them (manually) into a spreadsheet, to see the chart more clearly. We hope it’s useful, but please don’t use this as your only source of information.
